Orlaith Carmody is the Managing Director of Mediatraining.ie, a consultancy specialising in communications training and leadership development. Orlaith has addressed some of Ireland’s most influential business people, networks and political groups on the subjects of professional development and corporate leadership, and is in high demand as a keynote speaker, conference chair and seminar leader. In addition to having worked with high profiles in Ireland and the UK, she has presented at conferences in Europe, the United States and Canada.
Orlaith is an active media and business commentator, and contributes regularly to a variety of radio and TV programmes on entrepreneurship, women’s participation at board level and in public life, education and parenting.
Orlaith has worked as a national broadcast journalist on RTÉ, producer, media and management consultant, educator and trainer. As a serial entrepreneur, she has been actively involved with over a dozen start-ups, and continues as a shareholder and director of a number of SMEs in recruitment, production and education. She is a Board member of HRM Recruit, and Ablevision Ireland and has just completed a term as a member of the RTÉ Authority. Orlaith is a founder member and 2014/15 President of the Irish chapter of the international Entrepreneurs Organisation.
Orlaith has a Diploma in Journalism from DIT, an MA in Film and Television from DCU, and was the 2012 Screen Training Ireland bursary winner, participant on the Entertainment Master Class and the International Development Programme for Media Leaders.
