Cross-Cultural Communication Expert, Author and Presenter

Frances Edmonds is a Cambridge-educated modern linguist, and has wide experience on radio and television where she enjoys a deserved reputation as a controversial and very funny woman. Frances’ strong academic background, combined with her unrivalled broadcasting, communication and professional speaking qualifications make her an ideal choice for a conference host or moderator. Frances combines intellectual curiosity about her audience with her own brand of wit to create memorable events.

Frances Edmonds is an acknowledged expert in the business of cross-cultural communication, a presenter and a best-selling author. She specialises in working with multicultural and multinational organisations as both a keynote speaker and moderator. An engaging, inspirational and humorous presenter, Frances has also been voted Britain’s most entertaining female after-dinner speaker in a recent survey by The Times.

After graduating from Cambridge University with a Masters Degree in Modern Languages, Frances joined the Commission of the European Union in Brussels as an international conference interpreter. For more than a decade, she worked to facilitate cooperation and communication within all the major international organisations and between the government and heads of state at their annual World Economic Summits. Her years spent negotiating at the highest level fostered her expertise in consensus creation and cross-cultural communication.

Frances, who is trained to perform under pressure, transferred her ability to master complex issues swiftly and her facility with languages to her ensuing career in radio and television broadcasting. It is precisely these skills which she employs when delivering high impact keynote speeches and hosting demanding conferences.

In her capacity as a businesswoman who has helped create a prestigious specialist construction company, Frances believes that outstanding customer service is based on clear communication and on cohesive, motivated teams. For her commercial success in this venture and for her efforts in promoting the interests of British female entrepreneurs in the UK and abroad, she was elected an Honorary Fellow of the British Association of Women Entrepreneurs. She is also a Founder Member and Fellow of the Professional Speakers Association and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

While researching for her acclaimed motivational book, Winning the Game of Life, Frances discovered the tools for personal and professional success employed by world-class performers in the worlds of business, politics, science, sports, education, the arts and non-profit. In her keynotes, she draws on this accumulated wisdom to suggest strategies for personal and professional success, well-being and fulfilment.
