Andy Pag

Speaker, Journalist and Adventurer

Eco-adventurer and award-winning journalist Andy Pag is an engaging and entertaining inspirational speaker with a passion for sustainability and adventure.

A thoughtful and entertaining speaker, Andy Pag constantly works to reconcile two opposing pressures: his love of sustainability and his love of big engines.

He is a BBC TV reporter who spent two years driving around the world in an old school bus powered by waste cooking oil, salvaged from a scrapyard and turned into a home using reclaimed materials. This journey was part of a series of experimental expeditions where Andy searched for ways to travel in a sustainable manner. In the same vein, Andy has also driven a chocolate-powered lorry to Timbuktu on the world’s first carbon-negative expedition, and he also organised the ‘Grease to Greece’ rally for cars fuelled by restaurant scraps.

An engineer and award-winning investigative journalist, Andy’s adventurous spirit led to twelve years of leading vehicle-based expeditions to remote parts of Africa and the Sahara Desert until he was inspired to change the elements of his life that were unsustainable. This led to him beginning to experiment with alternative ways to power his journeys.

Andy is an engaging speaker, and his entertaining talks explore the ways each of his experimental eco-adventures has helped him reach a deeper understanding of what sustainability really means – and how to achieve it.

All Andy’s talks are tailored to the specific event, and when appropriate they are supported by wonderful images from his travels.

Andy is available for inspirational keynotes, after-dinner events, awards evenings, and educational talks; and as an experienced TV and radio journalist, he is also available as a facilitator or host for corporate conferences, seminars and meetings.
