A graduate of business development in DIT, Alan O’Rourke is an award-winning marketing director. Alan has lectured at the Dublin Web Summit, Dublin Institute of Technology, European Institute of Management Practice and is known for adding the right amount of humour to his talks.
Alan O’Rourke is an ex artist, ex filmmaker, ex designer, ex product manager and ex entrepreneur. He is currently the Marketing Director at WorkCompass.com, helping managers be awesome, employees be happy(er) and companies be more productive. Clients include Musgrave, Uniphar, Enterprise Ireland, Ibec and IMI.
Alan is the previous Director of Product Marketing (Activation and engagement) at WhatClinic.com, overseeing the rollout of a new clinic management system to over 20,000 clinics around the world. As Creative Director, Alan led the requirements and design of the new system.
Also accredited to his name are the roles as Founder and Director of Marketing at Toddle, where he grew the B2B user base from 0 to 30,000, including companies such as Disney, Oxfam and Diageo, and Founder and Managing Director of Spoiltchild with over 10 years experience creating and implementing marketing and design campaigns for start-up and blue chip clients including Virgin America, JetBlue, Eircom and RTÉ.
Passionate about all things marketing, Alan has lectured at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Dublin Web Summit, European Institute of Management Practice and judged the Institute of Creative Advertising and Design (ICAD) awards among others.
Alan is the author of two successful marketing books on lead generation and conversion. His latest book has been nominated for best small business marketing book award.

After building and selling a few other companies, Alan is now Marketing Director selling B2B performance management software to enterprise companies around the world.
